Fees
The penalty fare is formally called a tilleggsavgift (additional fare charge). The rates are:
| Adults | NOK 1,470, or NOK 1,200 if paid on the spot |
| Ages 15–17 | NOK 1,200 regardless of payment method |
| Under 15 travelling alone | No penalty fare |
| Missing proof of discount entitlement | May be reduced to NOK 150 |
| Misuse or forgery | NOK 2,600, and the ticket is confiscated |
If you received a penalty fare because you did not have proof of your discount entitlement, the amount may be reduced to NOK 150. To do this, you must show valid proof, ID and the penalty fare notice at the AtB customer centre within seven days.
If a child under the age of 15 travels alone without a valid ticket, no penalty fare is issued. Parents or guardians are contacted, and the incident may be registered as a penalty fare of NOK 0. In repeated cases, parents or guardians may be invited to a meeting.
If you forge a ticket, the matter will also be reported to the police.
