Student Travel Guide: Northern Trøndelag
Find out about student discounts and everything else you need to know as a student travelling by public transport in Stjørdal, Steinkjer, Levanger, and Namsos.
Get 40% off your travel pass
Students receive 40% off a 30-day travel pass, as well as 40% off single tickets for journeys across three or more fare zones.
You must always travel with a valid student ID and present it during ticket inspections if requested. If you cannot provide a valid student ID, you must purchase an adult ticket. The student discount is available up to and including the age of 34 with a valid student ID.
Student discounts for international students
If you are an international student, you can travel with a student ticket if you are entitled to a student discount.
To use a student ticket, you must carry:
- A valid student ID from your educational institution.
- A valid ISIC (International Student Identity Card).
Both documents must be presented during ticket inspections.

Easier boarding
On AtB’s green city buses and the tram, you can board directly if you have a valid ticket purchased in advance. On the blue regional buses, you must board through the front door and either show your ticket or purchase one from the driver.
