Changes in prices and discounts from 6 June
From 1 May, periodic tickets became significantly cheaper. From 9 June, additional changes to prices and discounts decided by Trøndelag County Council will take effect. Read on to see what applies to you.

It pays to buy your ticket before boarding
Buy your ticket before boarding to avoid the onboard surcharge. It costs more to buy a ticket from the driver or crew using cash or a bank card.
Bus and ferry: NOK 20 onboard surcharge for adults and students.
(NOK 10 for children, military personnel and seniors.)
New age limit for children
Child tickets apply from age 6 up to and including 17. Children under the age of 6 travel free of charge.
Youth tickets apply from age 16 up to and including 19, and are a good option if you are over 18. With a youth ticket, you can travel as much as you like on all modes of transport throughout the county.

These discounts are beeing removed
- The 3-hour validity period for single tickets in the evening and at weekends is being removed
All tickets are now valid for 90 minutes. This also applies to travel passes. - “My Price” in the AtB app is being removed
You will no longer receive increasing discounts on single tickets in the AtB app. - Spouse discount for seniors is being removed
Without your own senior ID, you must purchase a regular ticket. - Ferry group discount
Group discounts will no longer be available on ferries. The Ferry Family Discount will still be available.

Why are fares and tickets changing?
The changes will help cover part of the cost of cheaper periodic tickets. They will also make it easier to choose the right ticket.
What will become more expensive?
It will be more expensive to buy a ticket on board buses and ferries.
You will have to pay a surcharge if you buy your ticket there.
The following tickets will also become a bit more expensive:
- Single tickets (including 10-trip ticket)
- 24-hour tickets
- 7-day tickets

How can I avoid the onboard surcharge?
Buy your ticket before boarding:
- In the AtB app
- By SMS
- Using a travel card (t:card)
That way, you avoid the surcharge.
What will the new age limit be?

I have already purchased a periodic ticket. Will it become invalid?
No. Your ticket remains valid until it expires.
