Transport to and from Granåsen

How do I get to and from Granåsen?
To get to and from Granåsen during the World Ski Championships, AtB will offer shuttle buses with frequent departures between Trondheim city center and Granåsen idrettspark on competition days. Regular bus lines and trams will also run almost as usual, with adjusted routes for the areas around Granåsen.

Can I get off the shuttle bus between the city center and Granåsen?
No, the shuttle bus runs directly between Munkegata in Trondheim city center and the stop at Granåsen idrettspark, with no stops along the way. Use regular bus routes if you need to travel to neighborhoods in Byåsen.

Can I get off the shuttle bus between Granåsen and the city center?
Yes, the shuttle bus stops on the way back to the city center from Granåsen idrettspark at Tonstadkrysset, Lerkendal, and Nidarosdomen. Nidarosdomen is the last stop before arriving in the city center. In Munkegata, boarding is only permitted.

Do I need to go to the city center to take the bus to Granåsen?
No, you can also use regular bus lines that stop near Granåsen. Several lines go to Stavset, Flatåsen, and Husebytunet, all of which are within walking distance of Granåsen.
For example, you can take the train to Heimdal station and from there take bus lines 1, 2, or 16, which all stop at Husebytunet.

Will it be possible to drive a private car to Granåsen?
It will not be possible to drive or park a private car at Granåsen during the WSC. We encourage those living nearby to walk or ski to Granåsen.

How do I purchase a ticket?
We reccomend the AtB app! You can easily purchase tickets for the shuttle bus and regular bus lines via the AtB app or by SMS. Physical tickets can also be purchased at ticket machines, the AtB service center and sales outlets.

The ticket fares for the shuttle bus are the same as for AtB’s regular bus services. If you already have a periodic ticket, it can also be used on the shuttle bus. You can purchase single tickets in the AtB app or on other available platforms.

Things to know

What should I do if I lose something on the bus?
If you lose something on the shuttle bus or one of the regular bus lines in the Trondheim area, you can contact the lost and found hotline at 901 42 836, or use the contact form.

How is the on-demand transport service for those over 67 affected?
You cannot book travel between the roundabout at Stavset and the exit to Flatåsen (Kongsvegen) from 26 February up to and including 9 March. This area is in zone west.

Does travel guarantee apply during the WSC?
No. The travel guarantee does not apply during major events or other circumstances that significantly impact public transport.
We recommend traveling well in advance during the World Ski Championships, as a high number of passengers is expected, especially in the Trondheim area but also in other parts of Trøndelag.
