Free travel for Ukrainian refugees ends on December 15th

From Saturday April 2nd this year, Ukrainian refugees have traveled free of charge with public transport in Trøndelag. This ceases from December 15th.

This was introduced by Trøndelag County Municipality as a temporary measure during an uncertain period after Russia's invasion of Ukraine in February 2022. In March, it was decided that refugees from Ukraine could travel for free on presentation of a valid passport or approved ID card.

This will now cease from December 15th following a new decision by the county committee. This is partly because the scheme is considered discriminatory towards refugees who arrive from other countries.
